The reputation of your website is important and a negative or unknown reputation could actually be hurting your sites sales and traffic. There are many ways to establish a positive reputation for your website, but by far the most cost and results effective method is having your site reviewed. One of the most valuable tools you can use to promote your site is building or establishing your site reputation.

There are many professional companies that specialize in the verification and review of a websites products and services for a fee, but for the most part if you are on a tight budget then this won’t work for you, there are still other ways to get your site reviewed with the same results. If you are part of a service organization or association then you can ask them to review your site. Another option is joining your local chamber of commerce and placing a link on your site to the chambers website. Many chamber of commerce organizations offer icons that link to your profile at the chamber.

You may also consider contacting your local Better Business bureau. The main purpose if the “BBB” is to help legitimize businesses and their websites to potential site visitors and customers. The “BBB” also have attractive website logos and icons that you can place on your website as conformation that your website is legitimate and has a positive reputation.

If your website or company has been around for a while then you may want to search the Internet for consumer review websites that may have postings about your sites products and services.

Asking your existing or past customers to write a review of your sites products and services is also a powerful way to build customer confidence and your sites reputation. But keep in mind your want to have your sites customers and visitors relate how your sites products and services were of value to them and that they have confidence and trust in your site.

There are many other ways to help build your sites reputation and what ever method you choose you should make sure that you display links this information on your home page and on pages such as shopping carts of product and services information pages. Another great place to display this information is on your “About” or company pages. Once you have established your sites reputation it is a good idea to periodically update it so never appears outdated or incomplete.
