Building the Trust of your Website

Before 1998 all websites gained prominent placement on the SERPs by creating keyword rich pages and meta tags stuffed with keywords. As the search engines improved the algorithms used to return relevant results the term of “trust” was coined and it changed the mechanics of SEO.

Today the weight or value given to your website is based on relevant keyword rich content and the popularity of that content. The popularity part is achieved by gaining quality incoming links from othe3r sites with authority and trust. It is almost a never ending battle in the building on site trust, but with some creative work on your part you can have your site ranked as one of both trust and authority.

I have to reiterate by saying that your goal in building authority and trust lies in the building on quality inbound links.

To get started on your campaign you enlist the help of a journalism major at your local college. Offer to pay a moderate fee for writing and publishing a few relevant articles for on the college website or blog the quality of incoming links from the college website or blog will always carry more trust and authority than a PR 3 links.

The major search engines want information and content they can trust and aside from buying dozens of PR 7 or higher incoming links your site needs to have a large amount of fresh relevant content with a few inbound links from site of authority and trust.

Another creative trick is to place ads on forums and topic geared newsgroups asking for contributors to publish relevant articles on your site, as an inducement you may even offer to pay a small fee for a set amount of articles.

Once your site has a substantial amount of content on it your next step will be to gather a small list of sites that are PR4 to PR6 and send an email asking them to link to your site. Describe the large amount of content your site has and provide links to some samples. Be honest and tell the webmaster that you are trying to build your site trust and authority. It has been my experience that out of 20 links request emails that 2 to 5 sites will link to your site without question, but some may ask you questions and investigate your site.

Once you have built one or two new incoming links look for other sites with higher trust and authority. A perfect match will be similar sites that are not in direct competition with your site.
